Hello osgood_,
I appreciate yor input very much. I am learning CSS now and relearning HTML as I have not coded with it since the days of HTML 2.0. It is not that I want to avoid programming entirely. I am thinking about the early stages of the design process when I want to work something up quick for review. It is much faster to be able to draw the divs over a trace image from a comp. But, even the short time I spent on this yesterday confirms what you have said. And, to answer your question, even when I have a linked style sheet, DW is placing the CSS code in the html file when I use the AP Div feature. Not very intuitive of the programmers of DW, but perhaps something they could change in the future.
In any event, I was hoping for the best of both worlds. The power that DW has for when I am working on the final product with the ease and quickness of being able to use features like AP Divs in the early stages. Alas, it was not to be. I will have to work more with this to become more facile and then perhaps it will not take as long to mock up a preliminary site for review and comment.
Thanks again for the valuable and experienced input; it was most helpful.
